HIP-HOP WITH PROJECT 401
Project 401 is a collective of Hip Hop artists based in Rhode Island who use Hip Hop culture to engage with communities and relay positive social messages to youth. The group hosts free weekly dance sessions, perform for community events, coordinate Hip Hop youth programs with NGOs, and also organize community events that bring the positive art of Hip Hop to communities throughout Rhode Island and the greater New England area.
Join Project 401 for a Hip Hop Workshop! You've seen us perform at Brown University Events such as Beat the Streets, The Language of Hip Hop Conversation series, and the Rhythm of Change Festival 2013, now come learn how to move like us! You will be learning Hip Hop dance, (B-boying and B-Girling) the history and knowledge of Hip Hop and how it is used as a medium of expression. Attendees will learn basic steps, such as Toprock, Footwork and Freezes, as well as gain basic knowledge of Hip Hop.Learn how to express yourselves in a positive way while exploring the culture of Hip Hop through its elements!
